Luc's carrot:
- Soil maintenance : to avoid forked roots, prefer a deeply worked, light, loose, permeable and stone-free soil. Easy to cultivate, likes rich soil but is content with poor soil. Appreciates humidity and heat
- Exposure: sunny
- Sowing: 0.5 cm deep in the ground. Thin out to leave only one plant every 4 cm, 35 cm between rows
- Emergence: in 12 to 15 days
- Watering : the carrot appreciates copious watering, especially in the first months of cultivation. Remember to mulch to conserve soil moisture. An excess of water before harvest causes a bad conservation. Carrots become hard, fibrous and small if watering is not sufficient
- Harvest: 3 months after sowing. Spread your seedlings out to spread the harvest
- Storage: they can be stored very dry in sand (in cool, dry and ventilated places: cellar). To do this, cut the foliage at the level of the collar
- Origin: the wild ancestor of the carrot comes from Iran. The cultivated carrot is present in all temperate zones of the world
