CBD with multiple virtues

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid found in industrial hemp or cannabis that also contains THC

CBD is a phytocannabinoid, the 2nd cannabinoid in cannabis sativa and cannabis indica or ruderalis, and the most studied molecule after THC in hemp, where you'll find THC, CBD, CBN and CBG, as well as other alkaloids such as terpenes.

CBD is used as a medicine for the treatment of convulsions, inflammation, anxiety and nausea, with the power to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. CBD also has positive effects onepilepsy, schizophrenia, social phobia and autism spectrum disorders.

The history of CBD or Cannabidiol

Don't confuse Cannabis with hemp

Too many people confuse the subject of hemp and Cannabis, which are in fact derived from the same plant with THC and Cannabidiol CBD, but from different Cannabis varieties, yet the latter molecule stands out for all its health benefits and the use of CBD in a medical context. The CBD molecule is quite simply the most interesting if we follow the advice of consumers who use these products derived from hemp to soothe inflammation, anxiety, pain and many other symptoms.

Hemp is also known as Cannabis Light, Weed CBD, Herbes CBD, Marie-jeanne CBD, Cannabis CBD, Beuh CBD, Herbes Magiques CBD, Marijuana CBD, Chanvre CBD and many other names.

What is CBD?

CBD is a molecule extracted from the hemp plant of Cannabis Sativa L or Cannabis L varieties

CBD (cannabidiol) is a molecule belonging to the Cannabinoid Family.

Don't compare CBD and THC: the CBD molecule is extracted from hemp plants of Cannabis sativa L varieties.

The Cannabinoid family contains around 500 molecules, including THC and CBD.

Cannabis light varieties contain less THC, with percentages ranging from 0.2% to 1%, and CBD levels from 3% to 25%, depending on the variety grown.

THC offers euphoric highs, but today the benefits of hemp are attracting a huge number of consumers.

CBD has been proven to be really effective.

See below for diagrams of different cannabinoid molecules.

How does CBD work?

CBD's role in the body is catalytic

CBD optimizes a natural response to pain, anxiety and anguish. It acts on the nervous system to reduce the impact of pain and anxiety, but let's be clear: CBD does not eliminate or prevent either. The molecule asks the body to take care of itself.

This substance is highly effective, working as an extension of our nervous system's own natural defences. Cannabinoids work because the human body has the right receptors to produce a kind of natural THC in very limited concentrations. These include CB15 receptors in the central nervous system and brain, and CB2 receptors in peripheral organs and immune system cells.

THC molecules are bound to these receptors, but CBD molecules are also bound more indirectly.

CBD interacts with other receptors in the body, reinforcing its medical properties.

What are the effects and benefits of CBD?

The effects of this active substance in hemp or cannabis on the body are many and varied

Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive and does not alter the consumer's psychological state. CBD (cannabidiol) acts directly on receptors linked to muscular or joint pain or pain of all kinds, anxiety and anguish. Its effects help relieve pain and inflammation. Studies have shown that onosteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, to alleviate suffering.

Over the past 15 years, we've been discovering more and more positive effects on consumer health, with CBD and other cannabinoids helping to combat a number of pathologies.

Unfortunately, medical research continues day after day, with new studies coming out every month, suggesting that the effects of CBD can have a very positive effect on patients following treatment, helping to counter rheumatism, reduce necrosis following a heart attack and apriori attack cancer cells, while using the THC and CBD molecules simultaneously to obtain a more effective combination of the 2 molecules.

Is CBD legal?

A decree legalizes CBD but prohibits smoking

Hemp flowers and leaves are banned from sale to the public.

It took several years of legal battles and legal uncertainty, but today cannabidiol (CBD) is authorized for sale in France.

The non-psychotropic molecule of cannabis sativa L (hemp) has relaxing and well-being properties.

The December 31, 2021 publication in the official gazette now authorizes the use, export and production for industrial and commercial use of cannabis sativa L varieties with a maximum level of 0.3%(THC), the molecule responsible for the narcotic effects of cannabis.

The ban on the flower on that day puts the industry in a bad position, as this molecule can only be used in cosmetics, dietary supplements, capsules and hemp oil. However, this decree is not valid, as in its ruling of November 19, 2020 in the Kanavape case, the French Supreme Court ruled that the THC content of cannabis should not exceed 0.3%cisfrance could not prohibit imports from another European country due to the convention on the free movement of goods in the Schengen area.

The High Court has decided to put the sale of CBD flowers on hold for the time it takes to analyze the laws and the new decree in order to define the total legalization of the flower or the total prohibition, which will normally be determined around 2022 or early 2023.

In 2021, trade in CBD flower, resins, pollen and hash represented a turnover of between 300 and 400 million euros, and around 200 million euros for extracts and derivatives in France. The market is estimated at around 700 million euros for 2021, and 1.7 billion euros for 2024.

Is CBD a drug?

The answer is no, CBD is not a drug

The World Health Organization(WHO) has stated in its report that CBD is not dangerous to health because, unlike THC, it does not produce negative health effects.

Is CBD dangerous to health?

The answer is no, as stated above and confirmed by the WHO report

CBD is an increasingly popular hemp derivative sold in a wide range of stores. By 2021, there will be around 10,000 tobacconists and 2,000 CBD shops, so what's the difference with cannabis?

It's hard to miss out on cannabis CBD or cannabidiol, the molecule essentially contained in the hemp flower, not to be confused with a cannabis head or weed head containing THC. It's true that the resemblance is blatant and the difficulty of recognizing them for law enforcement agencies is not obvious, but chemical tests with immediate reactivity have existed for some time in Switzerland and are widely used in Austria and Belgium to control consumers on the street or in CBD stores specializing in the sale of CBD flowers.

Cannabinoid molecules

The cannabis plant

Cannabis is a complex plant made up of numerous cannabinoid molecules. Around 500 have been discovered in the hemp plant, and the main components of cannabis are :

It's important to know that many varieties of cannabis can be highly charged with THC as a psychoactive substance. In France, it's illegal to consume recreational cannabis with THC, but other varieties of cannabis have high levels of the CBD molecule, offering relaxing and well-being effects without causing dependency

Here are a few examples of cannabinoid molecules:

Is consuming CBD risky?

Today, CBD is considered a "feel-good" product, but be careful with its use

High doses can cause gastrointestinal problems or alertness disorders, but as long as it's used in low doses, for example to relieve stress, there's no recognized risk for the moment.

CBD can be found in various forms, including CBD flowers, hash, pollen, resin, herbal teas, infusions, teas, chocolates, cookies, cannabis sativa L oil, candies, body creams and treatments, pet care, cosmetics andCBD food.

The risks of CBD consumption

It's important to know that smoking CBD flowers, with or without tobacco, is not without risk, since combustion will occur, and the fuminhaled CBD contains a large number of substances that are harmful to your respiratory system and lungs fumee contains tar, ammonia and aromatic hydrocarbons, which can cause cardiovascular disease. We therefore advise you to vaporize your CBD flowers with a vaporizer such as the following Volcano classic, Mighty or Crafty, the world leader in vaporizers from Storz & Bickel, for light, legal cannabis flower consumption.

Beware of low-quality CBD

Found in various CBD stores and on certain websites

For the time being, there is no real traceability of CBD products in France, as the market is currently booming across Europe due to a lack of legislation and clear, pre-established guidelinescis.

Numerous dubious techniques are used to play on the THC content if it's too high, and the flowers are often washed out because the varieties exceed the legal levels, day on the taste by spraying terpenes of real cannabis in order to give the impression of consuming real varieties of cannabis as in the coffee shop at Amsterdam without the harmful effects, some producers adjust CBD levels by a variety of chemical means. As a result of this poor market regulation, it's impossible to tell a good CBD product from a bad one. We advise you to consult the specifications of producers of cannabis light or hemp CBD before buying from your local store.

You should also be aware of the pesticides and phytosanitary products that may have been integrated and sprayed during indoor, outdoor or greenhouse cultivation, in order to limit the spread of pests in their crops.

Who are the leading hemp producers?

France is Europe's leading hemp producer

CBD and its cultivation of hemp, limited to 1% THC, was legalized in Switzerland in 2010, but wasn't finally exploited until 2015 and the first sales in 2016 throughout the country. The Swiss government went berserk, not understanding what was going on and totally powerless in the face of the situation, starting with arrests, police checks and the seizure of products purchased in tobacconists' stores and specialized CBD boutiques in various cantons. The police, following a year of severe complications, adapted and equipped themselves with reactive testers to control the products held by consumers, then began to tax CBD flowers as a tobacco product, only to backtrack some time later and reimburse the tobacco taxes collected, because CBD flowers have been declared a tobacco substitute, and can therefore be consumed as a joint to be rolled and smoked in total legality.

CBD in Switzerland is sold at Lidl- yes, you read that right, Lidl, the supermarket known and recognized throughout Europe, sells CBD flowers as well as packs of cigarettes rolled in hemp CBD with a maximum THC content of 1% and around 3% to 25% Cannabidiol.

Switzerland boasts more than 250 companies specializing in the cultivation and cutting of cannabis clones, the harvesting of hemp flowers from Cannabis Sativa L varieties, indoor cultivation to obtain premium-quality CBD flowers that are compact and rich in natural terpenes, Greenhouse cultivation (greenhouse cultivation) and outdoor cannabis that grows completely naturally.

Switzerland is a pioneer in the commercial exploitation of CBD flowers, and thanks to their more permissive legislation (no European seed catalog), they have been able to import varieties such as Charlotte Web, renowned for its high CBD content of around 15%, or even 18% for certain strains. This has enabled them to cross a large number of varieties to create multiple new strains by crossing multiple hemp varieties with each other or even with cannabis varieties, but with a low THC content of, say, 5%, it's easy enough to get down to the 1% mark.

Italy has become a specialist in the production, export and sale of flowers on its territory, with a turnover of 120 million euros in 2019 and an estimated 500 million in 2021. CBD stores can be found all over the country, and light cannabis crops can be found all over Italy, in Tuscany, Piedmont, Sicily, Sardinia and many other regions.

Today, Italy is the second biggest producer of CBD hemp strains in Europe.

Portugal is not bad in its genre, and also authorizes under authorization by the Portuguese Ministry of Health companies like TILRAY, a Canadian cannabis producer based in Portugal, to produce Medical Cannabis plants in order to harvest flowers rich in THC and other cannabinoids for distribution to pharmacies in Europe.

North Macedonia has authorized the cultivation of Medical Cannabis for therapeutic purposes and specializes in indoor and greenhouse hydroponic cultivation under the GSAP standard for cannabis production with a well-defined cultivation process and specializes in the extraction of 100% GMP cannabis oil in order to obtain total monitoring of cultivation, as does the first company to have obtained a production license in Skopje, the capital, NYSK, a company owned by American investors and a Polish pharmaceutical group. Since then, North Macedonia has distributed some 60 production licenses for Medical Cannabis on its territory, and it is now possible to export cannabis flowers and oil all over the world.

The Czech Republic has also just increased the THC content from 0.3% to a maximum of 1% in the production of CBD flowers since 2022.

The sale of CBD flowers is also booming in this country, and there are even Light cannabis dispensers on the streets of the capital, Prague. The Czechs have already decriminalized a large proportion of drugs in their country, and are among Europe's biggest consumers.

In France, the marketing of Cannabis Light began in 2018, when the Swiss market began to explode. Our dear neighbors quickly converted us to this way of consuming CBD flowers, hash, resin or Pollen.

In Austria, the market has also been building and developing strongly since 2018, and even well before that, since in this country there are Growshops in Austria, the market is somewhat unusual, with the sale of Cannabis seeds from major seed banks such as Sensiseeds, but also the sale of clones(cuttings) of Cannabis varieties with a high THC content. Laws differ across Europe.
